It’s crazy, isn’t it? I hated “The Man Show” and its consistent casual misogyny, but I’ll be goddamned if Kimmel hasn’t really won me over this year. He’s knocking it out of the park. I’m proud of him. And the Fred Rogers intro was inspired.

The point isn’t to shame Republican lawmakers, though. It’s to change our thinking and perspective on the gun control issue, and to reframe it as one of morality (instead of loss of liberty, which is how the Rs like to frame it).
This has become a common refrain, and it is true. But at this point I think we should see that as a feature, not a bug. There was a time when politics wasn’t so tribal and you could have open discussions. However, since the 90's the GOP has weaponized ignorance which makes it impossible to have an open discussion, and…
I took an antibiotic two months ago that I got from a walk in clinic. I started feeling crappy again and went to a different clinic, closer to my house, and they said, “Oh, it seems you just were on an antibiotic?” and then lectured me on antibiotic abuse.
“your thoughts and your prayers are insufficient.”
Fucking right.
Kimmel started the show (before this monologue) with a clip of Mr. Rogers talking about being kind to others. The whole thing was well crafted and movingly delivered. He’s turning into a great voice of conscience.
A cozy Christmas ensconced in Kensington Palace with Prince Harry, planning your very fancy wedding, sounds pretty nice. :)
Being surprised at vileness at the Daily Mail is like being surprised at stupidity in Trump’s tweets. It’s always worse than you thought it could be.
Plus, he became someone any parent would be proud of.
I’m not new to the internet but was still unpleasantly surprised at the vileness of some of the posts at the Daily Mail.
This is a huge part of why I am rooting for them too. There have been interracial marriages among British royalty before (which I learned from links posted by a Jez commenter), but this one is high-profile and contemporary. And yes, sure to make racists mad. This is also why I want them to have kids too.
I think some of it is because, especially recently, we’ve been reminded of everything Diana’s sons have had to deal with and process, and they’ve been more open about the struggle with their grief, so it’s nice to see them find happiness. Like Harry has worked through some shit and come out the other side a better…
That’s because Keanu Reeves is an immortal and doesn’t want a paper trail complicating his lifestyle.
Me too! I mean, I don’t generally give a shit about Prince Harry or Meghan Markle or celebrity couples at all, but there’s something so incredibly charming about this that it is actually making me smile at my desk this morning. I can’t put my finger on exactly why I love it so much— but damn, I do love it. I love the…
Overhead? Commitment? Bad credit? Transient lifestyle?
Meghan Markle does not get the cover of Vanity Fair if she is not about to marry a prince. She wraps filming Suits in November, so I’m guessing they are waiting to formally announce their engagement once she’s done and firmly ensconced in London, just in time for Christmas.
They 100% are engaged, otherwise that VF cover story wouldn’t have happened (I sound really sure but I’m just quoting experts on this one)
Me too. As one half of an interracial couple this makes me especially happy. Also, their engagement is gonna make the Daily Mail and their racist-ass readers SO MAD hahahahahahahaha
Same! I find him to be absolutely adorable and they seem happy. It will be nice to have a royal engagement/wedding to follow with all the other crap going on in the world.
I am so here for this. I have no idea why, but I love it. It’s a nice little story that seems to pop up every time I need a little frivolity and I want them to get married and live happily ever after.
