Moffat has a lot of prophecies — the Doctor's irreversible death has been predicted a dozen times now, most recently with us visiting his "tomb" at Trenzalore. And there were also various dire prophecies about Amy, Rory and River Song along the way.
I thought it was a murder mystery/detective noir. Ahhh, pre-internet spoiler movies.

Despite the fact that almost everything after this he directed was crap, this genuinely did shock me when I first saw it. I really did not see it coming, and the fact it holds together when you KNOW what is coming makes it that much better. Too bad he's such a hack now...
