It takes athleticism and fighting through pain. But the outcomes are all known beforehand - fake. For this reason, it cannot compete with real sports.

So I’m at the driving range last night and a guy is chipping in the putting green 6 inches from a sign that says “No chipping.” I casually tell him there’s no chipping there and that the chipping green is 20 yards over.

Simply not true. I have, unfortunately, seen a lot of litigation involving HOAs where the busybodies love to intrude. Oh, and I’m a homeowner in a desirable neighborhood in the city limits of one of the 10 largest cities in Aamerica.
