Yeah, I kinda went in reverse order - this was like my 5th or 6th playthrough of the series over the years, and I finally became aware of the Steam achievement. So I concluded my playthrough with an achievement that was honestly a massive pain in the ass and I almost gave up on it several times (had to completely

Alright y’all, how many of you have sent the gnome into space?

Had my kids right after the peanut guidance from the AAP changed (and did the peanut butter slurry thing with both) - but I didn’t discover these peanut-dusted delights until Kid #2. They’re dangerously delicious, and I see them in most grocery stores these days.

We live in a nasty world, mate. And for everyone testing their internal waters with edgelord humor, there are three more that’ll make that joke twice without even thinking about it as a means of coping with the charnel house that is our political and economic system, and indulging either impulse is how it all

Could’ve just kept that entire thought process to yourself.

Right? I mean, I guess a turnkey streaming operation that basically works, and which basically no one was watching, is a fine thing if you’ve got the money to buy it and retool it for your specific content. But yeah, very strange.

Ah, good point, and good to hear from someone with firsthand knowledge on the subject. I’m a 30-something who loves watching Jeopardy, and fully intends to keep doing so!

And I had forgotten that Wheel (which I don’t watch) was sold in a block with it - Trebek mentioned that in his memoir :)

Yeah, for the most part, but...not Jeopardy. There are rotating “collections” of the show that are available on Netflix and Hulu, but they’re always like...30 random episodes from several different seasons but never less than two years old. The only solutions I’ve ever found for watching current episodes the day after

I figured it was probably something along those lines, but I do wonder if Trebek passing away is an excuse to blow up all of those deals and start over. Or...may necessitate it. Kinda depends if all of those existing contractees view the same show with a new host as fundamentally the same show or not.

Really, really hoping that once they retool the show for Trebek’s replacement (which I’m devastated about!) that they get their shit together on the streaming side as well. There is no reason why it should be this difficult to watch new episodes of Jeopardy the day after they air. Sony even owned their own streaming

Listen, I didn’t create the completely unregulated supplement marketplace; I just scoff at it.

Not your fault of course.

But not really tho

It feels like the Cybertruck is a machine built more to colonize another planet than to really feel at one with the planet we already live on. It’s a combative machine, not one designed to foster unity.

(Note that the title on the still below says he’ll be talking about defrosting windows, but in the actual video, he only addresses defogging.)

Interesting... I’m wondering if there’s some regional variation on this. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and we used the term “defrosting” to refer to defogging or

I think after watching The Almighty Johnsons (a comedy in which the Norse gods fled to New Zealand, and now live as a rotating series of humans), the accents for Norse deities can’t really phase me anymore. But yeah, much as I like How to Train Your Dragon, they definitely made Vikings permanently, weirdly Scottish.

Yeah, I’m no expert in accents, but I quite liked her performance.

I’m not as particular about voice actors being any sort of match for their characters (although I think there’s a healthy conversation going on about the extent to which that has been a denial of opportunity or authenticity when it comes to storytelling for actors and characters in racial minorities, and a few clear

Fenyx - who is just...clearly voiced by an American whoops, a Canadian putting on an accent - really sounds like the voice actor was given the note (or made the choice on her own) to sound like Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman.

Do we...just think Israeli accents are what Greek-adjacent people sound like now?

I mean it can’t be more complicated than Numberwang

Glad to hear they understand what I watch quiz game shows for, which is...quiz questions. 166 clues in a half hour show sounds about right. Seems like most primetime quiz shows think I’m there to see backstory on the contestants, or interstitial nonsense. Nope! Just the questions please.
