I remember seeing them on SNL, along with the Devolution video. Blew my 12 year old mind. It was like briefly having the TV tuned in to a different universe.

I was 12 years old when Devo performed on SNL. The only reason why I got to see it that fateful night is I was lucky enough to be spending the night at my grandma’s, she was a night owl and let me stay up to watch it. It blew my little mind. I never heard or saw anything like it before. Devo kicked open the door for

Imagine unironically saying South Park doesn’t evolve when, after 18 season, South Park decides to go from stand alone episodes, to season long arcs. And even after that blew up in their faces, stuck to it. There has been a lot of evidence to South Park’s evolution the past five years. Cartman and Kyle rarely battle

One of the things I noticed about this episode is that it had the random interrupting non sequitors laid one on top of the other that are a trademark of the show.

I love that bell ring of doom thats sounds whenever one of the Gang gets cornered in a situation.

This episode was so good I stayed up to watch the repeat showing right after it. After how bad last season sucked, I’m so glad to see that they’re absolutely killing it this year.

My favorite moment from this one was Dee’s attempt to shoot down Dennis, with his perfect response: “Nice try you dumb bitch.”

I’m not entirely sure this one IS setting up for a season long story line, especially since last season was actually mostly stand alone episodes with only the Heidi/Cartman relationship as a serialized subplot. I guess we'll find out more next week.

Their “both sides are turd sandwichs” got Trump elected

There are a lot of typos in this article.

I thought this episode was fantastic. The most I’ve laughed at a Season premiere since Season 19, and probably the hardest I’ve laughed since I saw Cock Magic for the first time. There were so many great little touches which really brought everything together, like the way Randy, mid-ballad to his wife, pauses to drop

Leopold is Butters’ name, his father’s name is Stephen.

The Jetsons had only been on the air for a month on Halloween 1962, so I’m giving suburban mom a pass

If it wasn’t for the subpar Cartman/Token plot, I would’ve given this episode a full A. Not only did it perfectly capture the fucked-up desensitization we’ve all gained from these school shootings, but it made Sharon’s eventual acceptance of them (along with Stan’s apparent injury) all the more hilariously disturbing.

This could be credibly read as an examination of how South Park’s “you’re an idiot for caring” attitude has influenced some of the worst aspects of modern culture. South Park has been reckoning with its own legacy since Season 19, and this makes it clear that the trend of self-examination isn’t going to stop.

It takes A LOT of comedic skill to make jokes about school shootings. South Park pulled it off. They still got it 20+ years in.

Yeah, I thought that actually came through pretty clearly. The flaming car made it kind of undeniable. That was his gangster car and wouldn’t have appeared in the simulation if it was just Dr. Fujita’s actual car since she wasn’t plugged into the simulation (and it would just be an odd car for her to have, regardless).

We absolutely knew about Annie’s Mom’s mental health problems. Remember the conversation with elf-Ellie and the return of the phrase ‘having a day’?

I was under the impression the ending everyone was still stuck in GRTA.

I’m glad that the show didn’t end with forcing the protagonists into a romantic relationship at the end.
