I got the feeling Dick Cheney either was in on the joke and rolling with it or just doesn’t ever give a shit about the optics and lets it all fly. Cheney so evil, he got a man to apologize for being shot by him. 

Cohen didn’t stop him because he was saying the “N” word, but his character responding in horror and saying, “No, I meant nanu” was an unexpected and hilarious comic beat.  Cohen’s aim is to get people to do dumb shit, but the dumb shit in itself isn’t always funny.  It’s the little bits like that which make it funny.

What are we to make of the fact that one of these stupid racists served four terms as a Georgia state representative? Do you think that the people who elected him four separate times are looking for a “middle ground?”

We lament the divided nature of our country, but, really, what “middle ground” are we hoping to find? It’s a myth.

With the Spencer bit, I think we have reached peak TV. I just don’t think it can get any better than a politician chasing you bare ass first yelling USA.
