I'd like to commend you all, you did fine work in this thread. Makes a local proud.

@vodkanaut: The remains of the Little Dutch Boy have never been located.

@Hatey McLife: afterward, he barked like a Thomson's Water Seal.

@UkraineNotWeak: we've been DS friends since the beginning, but in a few words...only somewhat.

@HockeyMountain: notice I said "most"- long-suffering diehards are ok. I'm 31, and let me give you a correlating example: I can give props to a Yankees fan like Rob Iracane- anyone who had to suffer through the 80s as a fan of that team has earned it.

As an Indians fan, I feel entitled to say that most Giants fans, and their "we haven't won a WS in..." whining, can eat a dick.

I have nothing to add other than that "Lightning Strike" is a great song. I first heard it on In Plain Sight and it blew me away. It's custom-made for dramatic montages.

@IronMikeGallego: I can't remember where I saw/read this (scratch that- it was a recent issue of SI at the barber shop) but there was a blurb about a game in early September about Crawford getting thrown out at third for a meaningless run with less than two outs. The Rays may have been playing the Yanks. At any rate,

@RebirthOfHernandezStache: most of America just wants to buy some nice blue jeans from a man they think they can trust.

@FavreFAIL: man, the Five Crowns really are tough.

@MadCowChaCha: Photoshop of the year. Perhaps the decade.

@Rasselas: you did well by giving him a thousand electronic paper cuts today.

@Kid Canada: it's a Gawker Media editorship rite of passage.

@skahammer: you left out chicks named Regina or Bridget.

Yeah, like the Washingtonienne's book wasn't in remainder bins two weeks after it was published.

Every time I hear about Buck O'Neil, I'm more impressed about him as a human being.

@DennyCrane: he could blink it out like that dude from French Elle.
