Great point! Humans consider themselves “intelligent” but there are no other species to measure/judge said “intelligence”. Furthermore, if we are heading towards self-destruction we should not be regarded as smart beings.

What about mosquitoes? They are not very intelligent but they have made more overall progress in terms of numbers than most species. Isn’t an animal capable of multiplying and outnumbering most animals a clear candidate to prevail as the dominant species?
