No reason to insure it if it wasn’t on the road, but it’s a loss anyway: MSRP was the equivalent of around $46k today. The real loss is, as you say, the lost earning potential — he’d have almost $96k if he’d put it in a passive S&P index fund.

I read this and just feel sad. He’s had this for all those years, didn’t enjoy it out on the road at all (not even one smoky burnout?!) and now he’s trying to dump it for what amounts to a loss (assuming he insured it during those years, not to mention the lost earning potential). Too bad. Hopefully it goes to…
“and immediately fell in love with it.” This line got to me. No, you can’t love a car and not drive it. You can love a car for many reasons, but because you thought it was a smart investment and locked it in a garage for 15 years? Nope.
They paid $35k for a mediocre car 14 years ago and want $40k for a car that would be considered garbage by current standards. Acting like this car is great while Chevy SS’s, which are far superior in every way, rot on dealers lots and got canceled is what is wrong with internet car culture.
He said he doesn’t want a cheap-feeling interior.
NO Mention for the new 124? Starts under 25, used examples are showing up less, RWD, manual is prevalent, turbo 4, weighs under 2500 and amazing looks!
This. As a former owner of one of those 1.8T’s, it’s not the mill that’s unreliable, it’s literally everything around and attached to it.
Luke: I have a long commute and my current car is unreliable.
Because it’s just word salad. “Local Jihadist”, “Radicalized French Citizen” or “Bomb-Planting Saudi National” are all way more accurate and helpful. Also, “radical” and “terrorism” are kind of synonymous, but not exactly. For example, the scriptural Jesus was radical, but not a terrorist.
Really? Because it paints all Muslims as extremists and alienates the Muslim allies in Jordan, Lebanon, the UAE, etc who we need to work with to defeat Daesh.
They are part of his layers of Teflon. He sheds them as convenient.
I was just thinking about how this is being bad at gun responsibility 101. Your gun is not the same as any other item that may or may not be left in a bag. You should know where your gun is at all times.
According to his email, he was on a hunting trip.
“On the way to Reagan National I grabbed the wrong bag, one I had just used at the range, which contained an unloaded handgun. I was not aware I had done this but of course it was picked up on the X-Ray machine by TSA.”
Yeah, when did eastern-European immigrants get to be white? I don’t remember that coming up for a vote at the white privilege AGM.
Hungarians got to start calling themselves “white” as soon as it went from the “Hapsburg Empire” to the “Austro-Hungarian Empire.”
For lack of proper email etiquette, an empire was lost.
The Ministry of Propaganda is at it again. Couldn’t help but notice: the screen-cap from Fox News says, “Alt Left”.
Trump being taken down by a Reply Allpocalypse would be a fitting end to this brief shitstain on American history.
I wonder if all those White House leaks are happening partly because no one there knows how the “reply all” function works.
