Yost was conveniently free and already had his Justified team with him on something else that didn't go ahead, so they all hopped onto this. Which sold me. Their fingerprints are all over episode 2, which is much improved. I've only seen those, but I've heard it gets even more Justified-y as it goes on (great guest

re: 1), pilot was by Justin Marks, who has a new Starz show coming up starring JK Simmons and parallel dimensions. Yup. http://www.imdb.com/title/t…

This looks fucking great, thanks

My only interest in this post was hoping that the Chesapeake Ripper was going to turn up in the review, but alas, he did not.

Amazingly, all 3 are Australians too. So not only nailing the acting, but also doing it in an unnatural accent.

Because as much as we want our favourite shows to be entertainment, they are actually, and will always be, a business. Higher than expected ratings mean they can charge more from advertisers next season, and they know what this show's audience is so they know they can cut a few corners and people will still watch

Was it Samaritan that was tracking Root when she was following Greer through the subway tunnels in the previous episode? If so I don't think hats are gonna cut it.

Use your words, Johnny

I thought Gina was dialled down just right in this episode. I dunno if it was a deliberate choice or just the way the story required, but if they can keep her at this level she's far less nails-on-chalkboard.

It's kinda ironic (OR MAYBE NOT "IRONIC", DON'T HIT ME WITH GRAMMAR STICKS) that SHIELD and Arrow both had super soldier plots in the same week. I guess they're a bit of a comic mainstay. Unfortunately for SHIELD, Arrow shit all over it from a great height. Every inch of Arrow's fights felt brutal and chaotic (loved

As excited as I am for that, I just hope it doesn't take him away from POI too much.

Something that these weird pro-Carter anti-Root fangirls that flood tumblr don't seem to understand. I think they all wanted a drawn out funeral lasting 37 minutes with 5 minutes of Reese shooting everyone (FOR CARTER!).

I've been anxiously awaiting this review all day (UK time). I had a horrible feeling Phil would find something to complain about (much like all the tumblr harpies I unfortunately experienced earlier that cannot get past the death of Carter, as if it were a personal affront), and that hitch would leave this with a C+

This town is a part of us all… a part of us all… a part of us all! Sorry to repeat myself but it'll help you remember.

Thanks for spoiling ALL OF LAST NIGHT'S TV for me!

Didn't Martinez say at the start they were going on a run with the "whatever brothers"? (replace "whatever" with their actual surname).

A- for sure. I have to save the As and A+s for when there's substantially more Root.

Hyuuuh!

Hey, I read this 9 months later! *crickets*

He wont be writing *anything* for Supernatural, given he's not on staff anymore. Kripke is a bastard for stealing him. Hopefully that show gets cancelled soon (which looks pretty likely if the ratings keep dropping) and Edlund can come back, possibly for season 10.
