I understand what you’re saying and agree with your point. I miss the simplicity of certain cars - My newest car is from 2007 (which based on your post, it too new for you). I don’t get why people want Yukon’s and Suburbans when most people will never use it....but that is the world we’re in....

I myself actually don’t find a bit of orange on a rotor to be aesthetically displeasing”

And how’s that different from any other Brand.

“... but we do have borderline-pornographic images of both cooling system hardware and aerodynamic simulations.”

Not just Nice Price, but I wish this were local because I would buy it NP.

It should not (yet).

I cannot deny that a 4 door GTI (or anything for that matter) is much more convenient than a 2 door counter part. But visually, I think the 2 door version is always better looking.

If I’m going to take this project one, I should probably get a couple boxes of drywall screws too.

Great with a sawzall....body filler not so much experience but how hard could it be?

Looks okay to me....still wish I could get it with 2 doors....

And once again, the American Market Get’s screwed......this time by a Domestic manufacturer. Before we blame GM I blame all you SUV drivers....”I need sit high off the ground”

I always thought the Caliber was a good looking car that Chrysler never finished making. It was a cheap car that screamed “I’m Cheap”.

I don’t disagree with you, but why not just replace the CX-3 now with this....and call it the CX-3?

is paying more for a CarMax car worth it?”

I would be happy with either parked in my garage.  That said, the 488 was a huge leap from the 458 (from what I hear). I would imagine the “Tributo” will be the same leap.

You know, if the mileage were a bit lower, I’d actually be calling them now.

I like this a lot, exterior is clean and somehow manages to look retro and modern at the same time. I like the interior too - modern without being cluttered. My only knock is that it looks tiny. I have no problem with small cars but I feel like this will look miniature compared to the SUVs on US roads.

Lets not compare this car to the Ford GT or Audi R8 - the Corolla wagon is not a Halo car and never will be confused for one. I believe it would be expensive for Toyota to import (and certify) the foreign market car for the US. It would be expensive and foolish to retool a US plant (and take away production from SUVs

I guess they know better. I just think in this SUV crazed world we’re in, both would sell and both would sell well.

VW’s been lacking SUVs in the US for a very long time. The “too premium” excuse is loosing it’s legs. If they want to make a dent in the US, they need to build cars American’s are buying. This T-Roc would hit a nice sweet spot.
