Agreed. But I can’t remember seeing a Prius V out in the wild.....maybe it’s blended in too well.

I’m as guilty as everyone else. The last new car that I bought for myself was December 2000 - I bought a 2001 330Ci 5 Speed. The next new car was for my wife, (2013 Nissan Rogue). For myself, I’ve only bought used. (an ‘07 335i 6spd & an ‘05 997 6 spd.).

I know you’re right but I can’t help wonder if they had pushed it a bit more, if it would have been a success for them.

Maybe, I know it’s working for Subaru. How’s that working out for Buick? (Seriously, I have no idea)

I’m with you. I miss the day’s of the Celica, 240SX, the Diamond Star triplets and so on. I don’t understand what happened between then and now and why people want CUVs?

Lets just say you could slap a car together like legos - the federalization of cars is a huge cost.  If you spend millions certifying a car through crash testing and what not, only to have it not sell.....

They don’t, but if something doesn’t sell, then what do you do?

You’re the only one to reply as someone who has bought 3 manual’s in the last 10 years....I wish I could give you more stars.

I agree that being forced to buy from a dealer stock forces people to buy something they might not want because it’s there now. But if something sold well, the dealer would stock it.

Don’t blame me for pointing out reality. Everyone on this site talks a good game but we all are responsible for the bland cars being sold.

“Until then I’m a big proponent of “take that $24K, buy the best S2000 you can get and enjoy owning a faster car that isn’t depreciating””

I don’t get the joke.

I don’t disagree that it’s selling well and I hope Toyota gives us a 2nd gen. That said, they could have given it a 25 - 50 more HP and made people happy. (Just saying)

- The 86 isn’t selling well for two reasons, 1) dealers don’t know how to sell them - they’d rather sell you a Camry than an 86 - why, I don’t know & 2) People have been begging for more power since they were introduced and Toyota refuses - again, why? Maybe 200 HP is enough but at the end of the day if adding 50 HP

I remember reading that the SS was never supposed to be a volume car...I’m not sure why thought. I got the impression GM never really wanted to sell it....if they did, they would have offered more choices like a low content cheaper V6 or Turbo 4 (like what Dodge does with the Charger).

We Aren’t Getting The New Toyota Corolla Wagon But We Should”

I’m really not disagreeing with you. If you stay on top of the maintenance, there’s no reason that an older would not be reliable. Key point is staying on top of the maintenance.

I want to know who voted NP on this? Like are you being funny, was it pity. Where you high (no shame). Was it in error.....I need to understand the process here.....

Totally agree with you - I have an ‘07 BMW (so I know about maintenance and the risks of being stranded with an old car). But I’ll disagree that non-working A/C and the suspension clunks are related to getting to work (last thing I need is non-working A/C in NYC the last few weeks).

I’m not saying they can’t be driven daily but lets be honest here, Saab’s weren’t considered reliable daily drivers when they were new. Now being a 20 year old car, the issues don’t get better with age. Any 20 year old car can be “reliable” but you will need to keep up with the maintenance. Add the “known issues” you
