No it’s not. While killing the kids is clearly not okay - but if it was done out of a frustration borne of other issues than it is pertinent to this case and her defense.

In a way, though, I kind of envy how it was acceptable back then to open a few boxes or cans of whatever and be done with it. Your guests ate it — perhaps the copious martinis of the era helped with palatability — and everyone was fine.

I’ve no doubt this is also an object lesson to some in Washington and environs.

One can only work with facts. If a trusted part of the legal system comes and says, “This is what the family wants, it will be easier on the victim”, you’d consider the prosecutor’s words.
