Jonathan is my fave, he’s great at what he does (make-overs), he’s funny as hell, and he doesn’t tone down the gayness out of any lame sense of respectability politics. I like how in-your-face he is about his personality with all the guys and the Georgia natives, it feels deliberate and political and I adore it.

An actual conversation I witnessed recently:

Love her and would have loved to see her nominated.

OMG this is great. Love Tracy.

There’s so many great movies his year but CMBYN and Get Out were definitely the only two that I kept thinking about for days and weeks after. Get Out because it was so clever, and CMBYN because it was so emotionally affecting. I was in a damn haze forever.

But that’s not the plot of CMBYN? The characters are 17 and 24, sure, but the older guy is not a mentor - it’s not clear he’s ever had a homosexual experience before this relationship, and enters it very cautiously. They’re both discovering and exploring this aspect of their sexuality for the first time was how I read

I found Shape Of Water a bit of a letdown after all the hype - it’s lovely and looks beautiful but the story is a bit simplistic and some of the supporting characters feel pretty pat to me.

Thank you for writing this, articulates so well the complex feelings I’ve had over the last few days but have struggled to get a hold on.

And it will add to the pressure for decent actors not to take parts in any future Allen films, at least not without even super uncomfortable questions being asked. It’s a good step.

The other guy putting this around is James Woods. These guys don’t give a shit about protecting women.

I really like The Cut and Vulture, both spinoffs of New York magazine, for pop culture and feminist stuff. The Mary Sue is fun and clever too.

Right? When I think about how many random people I have been photographed next to at dumb parties or work events - suddenly that’s an endorsement of their life and behavior?

That’s true, but it’s a super short-term strategy. Places like Jezebel survive because people love and trust them, and they return to them again and again and engage with the content deeply. If they continue down this path, people won’t show that loyalty. There are plenty of of smart, pithy places to get celebrity and

Yeah, Ora worked with Weinstein in 2015. It’s been lifted by random alt-righters on the net to implicate Winfrey in the wake of the Globes.

It’s Rita Ora, who has not accused Weinstein of abuse - in fact she said he never behaved appropriately towards her when she worked with him in 2015. This picture tells us nothing.

Yes exactly, this is all alt-right nonsense that for some reason, is now finding a regular home on Jezebel. It’s conspiracy theory crap.

“These photos don’t look good”?

This is the second weekend in a row where the MeToo story is accusing high profile women of complicity, based on some pretty circumstantial evidence.

What I saw going on with this post? Is this Breitbart or Jezebel? It’s been widely reported those Meryl posters were the work of an alt right troll mad at Streep’s denunciation of our predator president, not something feminists or anyone else should be lauding.

Honestly, they should teach this in schools. Or embed it in new iPhones, so dumb men just have to click a button and it sends a brief but clear message, and then everyone can move on.
