No they wouldn't. Not having the legal recourse to do something about your neighbor being a dick, doesn't mean the neighbor isn't still a dick.

I would have it painted like the complaining neighbor’s house so if they complained, they would be complaining about the look of their own home.

That’s what HOAs are for. If you can’t stand the sight of a well-kept, expensive trailer in someone’s driveway, you should make your largest investment in a neighborhood where the HOAs motto is: “Absolutely no fun allowed, whatsoever!”

I see your POV, and on one level I agree.

Yeah, I too have it a NP based on I would use it as a track car.

“Do you guys just make this stuff up?”

NP.

The E46 is my favorite 3 series generation. The kind of car that you can thrash around the track or the back roads, and you can also drive to a job interview and look respectable in.

E36 is easier to maintain in every way but the US E36 M3 isn’t a real M3. So you have to decide what you want. It’s a perfectly fine car with a bored out 328 motor. The E46 M3 got a real M3 motor.

I don’t get why people complain about new cars with boring, characterless engines, but when a company goes nuts and puts a high strung engine, that revs to the moon, they complain that its too complicated, too much maintenance, too unreliable.

That’s a tough call. It used to be pretty clear, but nowadays with hipsters thrown into the equation, it’s difficult to tell.

The sweet spot on affordable luxury/performance is the e36 right now. Personally I like the platform better, it’s a bit simpler and parts (for a German sports saloon) are cheap.
