Just finished my first playthrough on this, and I thoroughly loved it. Hardest boss for me was that ice bastard, but the hardest level was by far, BY FAR, the one you fight Twiceborn. That level was BRUTAL. Stupid crossbows...

I don’t want any media I own on hard-copy. I do not care about the trade offs of whether I actually “own” something if I *only* own it digitally. Life in the digital age is all about convenience, and I am willing to trade away many, many things (see, e.g., privacy) in the name of convenience.
You’ll be sorely missed, Jason. You’re one of the finest video game journalists working today and wherever you’re going is very, very lucky to have you.
Very encouraging. Think I might dive into this over LD weekend. Thanks, Heather!
Vagrant Story. Can you even imagine???
I hated both that and the weather.
I might actually enjoy playing in handheld mode with this. I’ll for sure buy it if it comes stateside. I might even import it.
I played this for about an hour today. It looks hideous on my 34" ultrawide on PC. It shouldn’t have surprised me, given it’s 15GB download size. Come on From, give me high res textures and ultrawide support. While you’re at it, maybe unlock the framerate?
I’m shelving it until somebody fixes how ugly the game is.
Oh, man. Andy Capp hot fries ARE CUISINE. Tim, you’re my best internet friend I don’t actually know. Thanks!
I was wondering where this comment was. LOL at internet geniuses reading “holy grail of trash” and thinking Tim was actually shitting on the game.
Epic is paying them for the exclusivity deal on top of their standard generous split.
This is one of the most intelligent, informative thing I've ever read in a comments section. Thank you.
No, it’s not, at all. You can say “hmm, I don’t feel like dealing with the minor inconvenience of another launcher, despite the $10 savings, so I won’t buy it.” That’s about as far as any “reasonable” reaction goes, here. This whole notion that you have some “right” to buy something you want from a specific store is…
No. If that happened, some, probably unfortunately large, percentage of people would buy it on Steam and then leave a negative review about how they had to pay too much for it.
Your fake outrage over your precious “privacy” is hilarious. Privacy in 2019 is just something that dbags over at Gizmodo constantly pretend to care about for the clicks. It doesn’t exist anymore, and you dont actually care. Also, if Tencent owns less than a majority share in Epic, they have fuck-all for control over…
This is the dumbest, most logically fallacious thing I’ve read on the internet in quite some time, which is remarkable given the dumpster fire that is the internet and average human intelligence in 2019. Bravo! I guess?
It’s nothing short of incredible that life in 2019 has become so damned convenient that when a little inconvenience comes along, like installing and booting a different launcher to play a game, that a not insignificant number of people react as if somebody has just murdered their parents.
I played on PC, starting on Saturday, and I ran into two hard crashes to desktop along with a single instance of the "Ultimate” UI not disappearing after the Ult expired. I think it reset the next time I triggered the Ult, though. Those were the only major bugs I ran into, but I think I got lucky.
Tim Rogers is subversive-Kotaku. You either enjoy his schtick (which is not to say his schtick is one note), or you don’t. Anybody who values straightforward, succinct prose or narrative might be frustrated by Rogers. He definitely wrote this meandering, though not remotely incoherent, review as an homage to KH’s…
I read elsewhere that they’re significantly reworking combat with the new turn based mode.
