That really depends on the recipe and type of pancake you’re talking about. From a mix, yeah, they’re trash. But a good buttermilk pancake, cooked correctly, will be hot and fluffy for at least the 5-10 minutes it takes to eat it.

Wow. I like both pretty much equally. Different qualities for each. Why can’t we all get along?

It is, because the size makes it a real multi-function appliance. It’s a sandwich press, a grill for burgers or fish or whatever, and an excellent tool to reheat pizza. It can even open up flat to make pancakes or bacon or fried eggs

Salting the water (and you don’t need a lot - like a teaspoon or so for a quart of water) means the pasta itself gets a little seasoning, and in theory will taste more like a fresh-made pasta than dried. It’s not strictly necessary, but a subtle improvement if you want the pasta to be more than a vehicle for sauce.

She’s not even that hot.

Way to live with optimism! Let us know how it goes.

I loved the fact that it was specifically “Home Sweet Home,” and that he didn’t play it too perfectly. The mistakes made it feel all the more genuine and in-character.
