Considering most of my teachers in grade school hated me, I could never see this working for me. 

For telephone scams like tech support and “Government gonna get you” calls, I like to keep them on the line as long as I possibly can. The more time they waste talking to me, the less time they have to scam others.

Gotta second Credit Unions. I have a mid-600 score and I talked to a local credit union and got a decent loan for 5% APR. I’d go to them first before anyone else as they might be more lenient on your FICO/Credit issues.
