Jeremy will just drive his mustang through it. Have you learned nothing?

I love all generations of the Esprit, but nothing beats the looks of the earlier ones, in my opinion.

What part of 1980s, force fed, small displacement 4 cylinder equates to torque below 4K RPM? Kept on boil, this motor does not disappoint.

I had no idea how low and wide and black and menacing these were IRL until I happened to look up in my rear view mirror to see one coming up behind me fast. Photos don’t do it justice.

Why did you let go below 4000 rpm?

That car was a land speed record holder and the owner (Mark Walker) is an excellent driver of old cars - he definitely doesn’t hang around!

Meanwhile, IndyCar just signed a huge new title sponsor, Formula E doesn’t suck anymore, and the Rolex 24 is next weekend.

There’s a lot of consultant work in the UK now. The UK did design cars for a long time you know. Also, when the whole EU started, the UK was the launch point for a lot of the Japanese factories. It’s more tied in that you realize.

At this point, the best thing for Europe is for the UK to got “no deal” and for it to go so badly, no one ever seriously considering going that route again.

Oh, you know, everybody but the hardline extremists.

I’m honestly pretty impressed by just how much of a colossal fuckup Brexit has become. Who knew that giving in to paranoid, racist delusions could be bad for a country?

This! Admittedly, when I attend races, I love the ear-splitting noise as much as anyone but... F1 is as boring a sport as I can imagine (I used to be a die-hard fan), the sound is a little “meh” when watching on TV, and...it’s the 21st century.

Now playing

Really the problem can be fixed if you just pipe in a ton of eurobeat. Imagine all the close racing with this in the background. 1000% better.

I like the noises these things make. It sounds like the future. Or electric radio-controlled cars…which I also like.

I’m more fascinated by how the driver can probably hear how well their tires are gripping the track.

If anything, you’re understating the magnitude of the improvement - a three second gain would have comfortably put Vandoorne on pole at Spa, instead of last. It’s bigger than the margin between the absolute best and absolute worst runners any given F1 weekend.

Be careful what you wish for. The main specialty of old Nissan was called “going bankrupt” and I don’t think those Japanese folks in charge of ousting Ghosn have learned their lesson. With any luck, they’ll be under a different set of foreign management in no time.

It is a job. He’s in the entertainment industry.
