Well, it's the Asshole Ladder, so the higher your asshole is the closer you are to being a shithead.

Agreed. Fuck Jaime sideways. He's only a few rungs below Cersei on the asshole ladder for me.

I don't think it's sarcasm, just one of those weird things that's hard to translate directly between languages. It still signifies that the movie was liked. I guess one way of explaining it would be that it's the sort of thing that you'd say to someone who asked what you thought of something and you thought it was OK

Yep. It's French for "it was alright".

If you're interested in metaphorical cross burnings, just head over to the comments section about this premiere at the Hollywood Reporter's site. I haven't encountered that much racist language since Thanksgiving dinner.

I don't use this word lightly, but really fuck that cunt.

"Dirty Work" is mostly forgettable except for MacDonald's perfect line deliveries, which turn clunky dialogue into absurdist gold (example: "You didn't count on my loyal army of whores!").

Theron in most everything she does is magnificent and awards-worthy. I think she's one of the five best actors in the business right now.

Sure I do. But apparently you don't.

Awesome strawman, bro.

*cue overdramatic music*

American history is rife with examples of government infringing upon citizen's rights and private enterprises paying the price for it in the end. Small privately owned businesses. (i.e. NOT Arby's) that do not provide essential goods and services should be considered extensions of their owners and his or her free

In every case so far where a gay couple has sued a small business into the ground, for starters. Only the fact that they are a "protected class" makes it illegal—if the couple were fans of a certain band or sports team the actions would have been perfectly legal. That's ridiculous.

No. No, it's not.

Laws FOR oppressed classes tend to end up having the effect of restricting rights for those not in those classes—something history has only recently begun to show. What works are public laws for everyone that prevent governments from favoring or disfavoring particular groups.

It was not to suggest that they were "better"—only that they're more honest and consistent regarding their motivations.

Here's the part where I mention that as a social libertarian I don't believe in laws for "oppressed classes" but equal representation for everyone, even right-wing groups I don't like.

They're free to "shitcan" him for it, and those of us who have a brain are free to mock them for acting as if they're doing something righteous.

Yes, because that's exactly what social media is designed to do. *groan*

That makes them look even worse.
