Actually, it’s about 12M.  That 3M number is only cars, and doesn’t include pickups and SUVs.

1st Gear: There’s still a British auto industry?

Oddly, Guardian did a piece yesterday about how the British property market has boomed since Brexit was announced. it’s still considered a safe haven for a lot of wealth.

1st gear: what’s the big deal for ultra-premium manufactures like Aston Martin? People who can afford them will still buy them after a 30% price hike.

Raph, Patrick, Kristen, will one of you, for the love of god, reach out to Honda about Brexit? Everybody keeps asking Bentley and Aston. Nobody here buys those. But EVERY Civic hatch, including the Type R, is made in the UK! From a Jalop perspective that is the concern.

Implying the British have an auto industry.

Well. “Feel slow” is a relative thing. My quickest car is a 19-year-old Forester and my second-quickest ride is a 30 year old truck. I imagine a new XV would probably feel pretty darned brisk, frankly. And while in a sporting mood I’m a slow-car-fast kind of guy, mostly I’m a slow-car-slow driver. I don’t cause

I hope I made it pretty clear that the car’s efficiency made up for the lack of speed to leave us with a net good car, because that’s how I feel.

Remember when 10 seconds to 60 wasn’t just adequate, it was actually pretty good? I do.
