The article specifically says 'simple' sandwiches. i.e. grilled cheese, ham and cheese, etc. No way a Reuben is a 'simple' sandwich. Same goes for Gyros, and even Falafels, which are super cheap to make, but massive prep and cleanup.

You folks at Gawker Media need to get on the same page when it comes to Reubens. Per Burneko:

Yeah house specialties and things you can't replicate are still okay, but in contrast, a plate of pasta at Olive Garden for $12 or $13 is ridiculous when you can probably make something better at home for $1.

I think there's something to be said about specific food, too. I can make a Reuben myself, but there's something mind-blowing about the Reuben at the deli down the street. Pasta may not give me my best bang-for-the-buck, but if it's the best thing on the menu, I'd be silly to pass it up for something not as good.

Given the seatback-tilt clashes in airliners recently, we're is desperate need of more politeness.

Some men have good intentions. Some men don't. Women, unfortunately, live in a world where one of their greatest physical threats is the latter of the two.

I know there is a LOT of conflicting info out there on cooking oils. Even the reputable sources and scientific studies contradict each other. It's hard to come up with definite answers on this topic.
I'm no expert, but from the reading I've done there are a few red flags about this chart. First of all, it briefly

I'm surprised Palm oil/shortening isn't on there. It's my go to oil for frying. I usually use Ghee and Palm shortening for most of my cooking with the occasional use of coconut oil.

Years ago, when I was new to my FM, I was in England and had a chance to trade the (very nice) FM for a Leica IIIG. I've often regretted not doing so. Back then, I had published some photos and had pretensions to being a photographer in the HCB school (I even read Diana and Nikon as an introduction. For a while, I

It's true Besson used Leicas, but he always had one around his neck ready to go. My point is that his photographs are great not just because of the technical qualities, but because of their content. He could see things coming in a way that most people cannot.

Oddly enough, I went from a DSLR, downgraded to an Olympus EP-3 MILC (which I absolutely loved), and then sold that for a Sony RX100. Don't get me wrong, the DSLR and MILC took fantastic photos but they weren't something that I could hand to someone else easily. People always got flustered by the camera and I felt

I'll toss in another, perhaps less common/practical one: good speakers. If you can afford the high cost and the space/soundproofing constraints, it just does such a massive difference to how your music library sounds. I dislike keeping headphones or IEMs on for more than a few hours, but with speakers I can keep

Unless something has changed recently, Android devices suck for low latency music production. That's why you won't see much.

Caustic 3 is my absolute favorite app of any kind.

Korg's Electribe synth and drum machine is easily one of my favorite little instruments of all time, but after mine was stolen about 10 years ago, I've found it hard to buy another. Thankfully, the iPad app perfectly recreates the original machine. You can easily create drum patterns, add synth lines, and perform a
