Dude, I didn't walk.
Dude, I didn't walk.
"...niche group of truck driver..."
Well, I dunno about Volvo. They've always been odd ducks in the market. My experience has been that that is not the norm though. Especially for high GVW vehicles.
How big are you garbage trucks with only 2 axles?
There's trade offs for each system. But if I'm hauling around an entire housing development worth of weight, I want drum brakes on my load bearing axles. They handle more weight because they are heavier and take longer to heat up. They take longer to cool down though too and that's why they are sketchy in multiple…
Maybe on the front but I'll bet the rear axles are drums. The trash company I used to work for had a few trucks with discs up front. Mainly because they are less prone to locking up and you can maintain control and crappy situation. But every rear axle and the drop axles were all drums.
Ummm....maybe?
Ummm...because airplanes need to save weight. Discs are light, drums are heavy. So they compromise. Besides, planes have air brakes (flaps) and reverse thrust vectoring to slow down too. They don't rely on wheel brakes to stop the plane alone even though they can.
Drum brakes aren't going anywhere any time soon. Pretty much every trash truck, dump truck, utility company truck, etc...has them and won't be getting rid of them any time soon. Drums are actually better at stopping than disc brakes. They just suck when stopping multiple times because they get heat soak faster. But if…
Most likely but disrespect doesn't come from me. I will give anyone a chance who wants one. If you squander it with arrogance and inaction, you're not being very respectful to me for the offered opportunity. I will hold you to the same standard I hold everyone else, regardless of your gender. If you are catching flak,…
I think you accidentally something.
I was a volly EMT and drove ambulances for a couple years. I know what the freakout while you're trying to save somebody's kid is like. It's unnerving and aggravating at the same time trying to cut a lady out of her wrecked car while she is screaming bloody murder for her baby that was in the back seat.
I don't like the stance/flush crowd. I can appreciate the work and skill needed to get to that ends and I can even appreciate the ends. I just can't stand the majority of the owners so I avoid that scene.
Fuck no.
It's true.
Nobody said it didn't have an affect.
How about you go back to English class and learn how to spell and the proper use of grammar?
Sometimes, yes.
I agree.
There is a time when upsetting others matters.
