Good news...but please dump Parker Posey. Her character is annoying and unneeded.

I couldn’t make it through the first season, but I’m more hopeful about the second season. A lot of what annoyed me about Dr Smith and the “boy and his robot” plot should be better in the next season.
I felt like they kept making the characters more annoying than necessary to keep the plot going. Like they are surrounded by all these life and death situations, but let’s make sure they can still hold on to grudges and bring up their personal issues at inconvenient times.
That was my take as well
Absolutely - i think that’s what was intended. Did you see the look of horror on the guy who witnessed It? He knows there is more going on now than just a giant bear.
The “Are we brothers, Francis,” scene is perhaps the best scene so far of this show. Such a strong, quiet moment in a show with so many other moments of spectacular writing.
that’s precisely how i felt about it...that the monster was some combination of paranoia, xenophobia, lead poisoning, starvation, and scurvy.
Thank goodness for Mr. Blanky! I realized how taut my nerves were when his remark to Crozier about joining them on the walk out to see the Inuits (“It’ll limber me up for the next 800 miles you’ll be makin’ me walk”) made me laugh aloud (hopefully not as maniacally as poor Mr. Collins), and again in the midst of the…
All the stunningly bleak vistas of the gray-white sky, snow, and stone make me never want to watch a traditionally murky prestige-palette TV show again.
Earlier episodes with the creaking of the ships’ hulls in the background were also really well done.
I wish I could listen to this in surround sound because even on my laptop the rocks clacking together as the crew walk around on them sounds amazing.
I know It’s not going to happen but I would like to see Goodsir and Lady Silence make it out alive they can raise little goodsirs and goodladies together.
Why would anyone remain loyal to Hickey after everything he’s done? I guess the one guarantee is that those trainers are going to get what’s coming to ‘em as Crozier is right. Hickey is gonna burn through them. He’s only taking them because he can’t pull a sled by himself.
So is this a “spouses can’t be forced to testify” situation? If it is that means they knew back last year that the authorities were closing in.
Agreed.
Honestly this series begs for a bifurcated set of reviews like with GoT, for those who have and have not read the book. Because there are so many things I could mention from the book, but they would constitute spoilers for subsequent episodes.
Poor old Mr Collins should have known that drinking coca-based beverages in the polar regions attracts CGI bears.
So they can’t testify against one another?
Hopefully this saved her from being brainwashed completely.
This seems about right for Cally.
