VOTE: Rainmeter

Notepad++

This is a good tutorial for using the eraser tool to isolate part of an image, but this method has really fallen out of favor as it is one of the slowest and most tedious ways to do this. Take a look at using the pen tool and paths and / or painting on a mask as alternatives.

Wow, even the same Aller font as the Rainmeter logo. No shame. I do hope Google buys these guys and changes the name to something that isn't confused with a popular app that has been around since 2001.

Irony.... "Studenst" ;-)

Fool me once, shame on you...

There are several Rainmeter variants of this as well.

@Friendly0Fire: I understand, but my point was to have a combination of this and Speed Dial / Fast Dial. So you save your tabs, laid out in groups and all the cool stuff Tab Candy does, and when you start Firefox the next time, they are all still there. NOT pre-loaded, but as static images of the last time you were

If only the tab layouts could be saved, so this could be used as a perfect world combination of Panorama and Fast Dial.

The raw eggs are a particularly topical suggestion. ;-)

Facebook is too "one layered" for me. My uncle and my boss and my friends from college and my mom are all "friends", but not the same kind of friends. Facebook is useless unless you either homogenize discussions to some banal common denominator, or only connect with one kind of "friend".

Interesting article. I really liked the part where... Ooh, shiny!

@Midnite1: Whatever you say. My experience was that I installed "Add-on Compatibility Reporter" and now all my addons are running. Some are indeed incompatible, although only a handful, the rest run just fine and I didn't have to change any version numbers or do anything other than install Add-on Compatibility

Yes, I far prefer the Add-on Compatibility Reporter over the method in this post, as it both allows you to run "incompatible" addons and to provide feedback.
