I fear another light, fast piece of software that did one thing really well for me (play .avi files) with a clean interface, low memory usage, fast load time and no hassle is being bloated up to "do everything". When will software writers learn that sometimes "it ain't broke"? Leave the interface alone, keep working

Wrong... A junk drawer is good. Just clean it out once a year or so (you might be surprised at the little treasures you find) and it's a great place for exactly the stuff he scolds us about (pushpins, random fridge magnet, rubber bands, stray batteries, disposable lighters, birthday candles, etc.

Hmmm... This might be worth a second look. They have done quite a bit to fix it up and make it more configurable.

The color chooser for setting the main background and thumbnail titles etc is pretty limited. If you happen to be using Chromifox, here are the appropriate color codes to get this to blend in nice with that theme. You can just paste them in instead of using the color chooser.

Tried it a while back but stayed with Speed Dial. I didn't like the way it updated the thumbnails and it was a bit flakey.

It should be called "How frequent are surnames in North America, Europe, and Australia" as that is apparently the only data they have.

It's not bad. Using the presets certainly can give a quick easy touch-up to the default theme, although it doesn't work well on top of other themes. So if you don't mind the default icons and bitmaps of the default theme this is great for a quick paint job on top.

Excuse me for a noobish question. I have been tempted to give Ubantu a try just to get familiar with it (I have a fair amount of unix experience, but only command line on servers). I am running Vista 32bit and thought maybe Virtual Box might be a nice alternative to going through the hassle of configuring a physical

This is REALLY bad folks. It basically can't be uninstalled or turned off, and on vista with tab mix plus it just tore my firefox up. Thank goodness I backup with Acronis every night and could restore my mozilla folder.

I have been making a conscious effort to move to free / open source software as much as possible. Some things have been easy and I'm happy I made the change:

Nice skin. I'm not jumping on the GoogleWagon(tm) until there is some more functionality, but This really is a nice clean look.
