I saw the symmetry between Rios & Seven though, they seemed to relate to one another in their emotionally distant ways. And it made sense to have the 2 most emotionally open crewmembers have their cry scene together. 

Very happy Torchwood Miracle Day got touched on. He played a despicable character really well. Solid concept for a season too, just dragged what could have been a really tight 7 ep series out to a really over-fillered 10 ep season.

I was ok with most of this, but how did they give Seven a new pairing with Raffi that somehow managed to be more abrupt and out of nowhere than her pairing with Chakotay? I don’t even recall the two characters exchanging words in a group scene prior to that reveal, let alone a 1 on 1.

I had heard about those. Really hope Seven is alive & present if Picardo does appear as The EMH Doctor. At the moment I can’t tell if they’re gonna axe her (Jeri ryan has a season-long arc on MacGyver ahead) & are burning through the suggestion box, or if they’re priming the pump for a Star Trek Seven of Nine…

Ok it doesn’t really show what happens to Seven after she disconnects from the Collective because of the cut-away, so the next time we see her will probably be more indicative of what fallout this event will have on her. That said she’s a character that compartmentalises trauma well until she has time to process it…

The othe part being the super-1-dimensional plot - because those 2 things were what let the movie down for me.

I think Whoopi would unleash a can of Whoop-ass on the writers before letting that happen to Guinan. Also being the last character EuGene Roddenberry created for Trek affords one some protection.

I thought the main 2 child actors in DS9 did a good job. Nog telling his dad he doesn’t want to be like Rom elicited the most emotionally pained gasps in response that a show has ever pulled out of me without it involving a cherished character perishing soon after.

Except the trailers and press advertised both of them leading up to this...so its probably more a union thing than an orchestrated surprise.
