I hope you realize that this is exactly one of the impediments to greater Linux adoption. The conversation usually starts with, “don’t like your crappy, bloated OS, try linux”, which is immediately followed by discussion of dozens of different distros and why some are bad and some are better, with no universal

Yeah and that should really be happening with all businesses so this is a good start. Disparity between execs and the people that do much of the work is not balanced as it should be. They should make more, per their level of risk, but not 10x, 100x, etc.

My daughters have never cared for soda or other sugary drinks and always get water. They’ve never been given a hard time and, quite the opposite, have been complimented multiple times for “being good” with their beverage choice.

Related to this, there are other unions that have tried unsuccessfully to represent various police agencies. One called me one time for a donation (with the promise of a sticker I could put on my windshield) claiming they represented the NYS Troopers. I said, that’s interesting, one of my best friends is a trooper and

The nice part about truly trustworthy people is that they have no problem doing this. If they have a problem with it...a good clue not to trust them.

And you still don’t know why his mother/father wouldn’t do it?

Looks like Apple relented and is allowing it:

It also shows where their priorities are. Not in doing right by these victims but in ensuring that their asses are sufficiently covered.

I understand your point completely. However, my first reaction is that there are plenty of fat doctors that seem to be unhealthy, too. It’s understandable for us to expect more from people that should know better, but is that right?

Or, it’s cold out! I use the DD app and generally wait in a line of 3 cars at most, and it’s morning when everyone is on their way to work, knows what they want, and are quick.

Congratulations on missing the entire point of everyone’s discomfort with the statement. Saying that a country has economic and infrastructure issues is one thing. Saying, I therefore don’t want “those people” to come here, is. Also, you apparently like 45's “straight talk” whereas some of us would like to see the

So I’m curious: Do Indian restaurants typically make their own ghee or is it cheaper for them to buy when in larger quantities?

It’s a bit funny and ironic that the whole point of and movement referenced by Oprah is around how shitty and unfairly women have been treated and how she looks forward to a day in the hopefully near future when that changes. That the vast majority of negative comments here focus on things like Ivanka’s face, looks,

You’ll figure it out when you stare at the same envelope three days in a row. I make an assumption that one thing a mail carrier should be able to do well is look at the address on an envelope.

Expended minimal effort to try to watch it, failed, and watched something else instead.

Yeah, but the rubber meets the road where tech actually accomplishes something valued by people. Some engineers seem to be so into the tech they can’t see past it to see whether they actually have something usable. In my company we have engineers constantly working out new ways to accomplish the same task, but then

The Grinch didn’t hate Christmas. He hated people. Taking Christmas from them was a means to an end (taking away their joy).

Just sometimes? I completely don’t understand why they still exist, at least in their current form. People don’t send mail like they used to, and have less of an appetite for junk mail, so they decided to get in the package delivery business (makes sense) but can’t do a very competent job, and now they apparently

This article inspired me to post packaging feedback about a recent USPS delivery that actually arrived a day later than I was told. Seems like Amazon needs to be informed about our real experiences with their carriers and, as a manager of supply chain field logistics, this especially drives me crazy.
