All of this is spot on. The only thing I would add is the weekly long run is way over-rated, for some people (know your body, etc). I got by with a single half marathon for the lone long run during the training for one of my marathons. My time wasn’t great, but my recovery was just fine.

I’m probably being naive, but I don’t think we will see/hear that. My hope is that if this is adopted, the crowd will use the clock as a cue to quiet down as it gets to 10 seconds or so. Jackasses will be a factor when this is first introduced though.
