Yes, being a football official myself I understand the rule. And you do what the rule says. So I understand why the coach throws a red flag. My question is why the rule is necessary. I understand when a coach is 20 yards from the line of scrimmage in a loud stadium or when the snap is emminent. You need a visual

If I understand this, it basically works out the same as an early termination fee that decreases over time. The earlier you leave the carrier the more you pay. I'm ok with it.
