I don’t want anyone to shove their fingers down my throat unless they’re trying to get me to vomit. It’s not sexy, it’s weird and porny and she indicated she wasn’t into it.

I think that reinforces the point though — the conversation here should be a lot more nuanced and handled more deftly. I’m in my 30s now and I know how to say no, but pretty much throughout my 20s as I explored my sexuality I consistently ran into situations that I didn’t know how to handle. There’s a lot of pressure

yup. I’m just gonna hang up and listen.

Just here for the comments:

Once when buying a pregnancy test at CVS the man asked if I was hoping for positive or negative. Which was none of his goddamn business but for some reason I answered. I said I didn’t really care either way. To which he doubled-down with “I hope it’s positive. I just love kids.” like uhh wtf dude it’s not like I am

Yes! Thank you - that’s it. Perhaps Gawker linked to the vice article (I don’t normally read Vice but I remember reading it with a look of disbelief).

Take these thousand stars, you hero. Take them all.

I did this about 10 years ago. Living in an apartment complex and noticed some shady goings on with the people across the courtyard. Kids in and out but never for long and the kids looked unclean and hungry. Went on for awhile and finally I needed to do something. Called the police. The place got raided. Turned out

I appreciate your response, but to me, this isn’t a church or a religion. It’s a bunch of secular humanists and ‘spiritual but not religious’ folk coming together to talk about social justice issues. I’d join a club concerned with the same things, but put the label ‘church’ on it and it’s a hard pass for me.

I don’t get it. Church is a place you go to worship God. Why would an agnostic or atheist join a church, even if God isn’t particularly mentioned during services? You still all gather because of your common belief in a higher power, no?

This comment is magnificent, but I wanted to give you a reply in agreement - it goes something like this

I dislike organized religion too (also from MA), but became a Unitarian Universalist. Might I suggest at least giving our religion a look too? I respect what the Satanic Temple does as far as trying to pry religion out of government, but if you’re looking for a personal brand of religion that isn’t as edgy but is

I’m mystified by Americans who describe America as being in the ‘top spot,’ ‘the greatest country in the world,’ and ‘the country that EVERYONE wants to live in.’ It’s not. It certainly hasn’t been any of those things in my lifetime. It seems like most Americans are completely clueless about countries that aren’t the

The damage from this won’t just be the superficial damage to relations but does have the distinct possibility of seeing the US fall from its top spot and instead harkening the “Chinese Century” of geopolitics.

Soylent is. I tried it for almost a week and then decided to buy enough for a month for another test.

I think a bigger worst is a Born Again who falls from grace and doubles up on the need to push their agenda by way of attrition. And even worse that that is Christian leaders who commit some “sin” and are caught, then publicly cry out showing they are worthy/chosen because they have earned back God’s love. The third

Murder, historically, IS a Christian value. Signed, a cynical Native American who remembers the history of Christians who came to Turtle Island and prayed; then fell on the Natives & preyed.

If he’s worried about sexual abuse by religions, he should be calling on people to burn down the Vatican.

There is nothing worse in this world than a born again christian.
