Any negative marks on a game industry work history are pretty much a death sentence. The game industry is the most competitive industry in tech so practically every company can cherry pick from the top candidates. Essentially it's like trying to get into an Ivy League school w/ an F.

Normally 4 million is great, but SE expected it to be their top game for 2013 (and quality-wise I think it was). If you look at other publishers their top games sell more than 4 million copies. Even THQ's top sellers did better than 4 million copies.
