Oh... I, uh, don’t know if I’ll still come around anymore much after this.

Driver fled the scene and then promptly fell off a jetway…again.

So the agreed upon residual value is valid between only the Lessee and the Leasing company. A non brand dealer is considered a 3rd-party payoff. There is no agreed upon price between the Toyota dealer and BMW for this lease. Therefore BMW could charge whatever they want for a payoff, or refuse to sell the car to the

Eh, if he could afford to buy out the lease, there’s nothing stopping him from doing just so, and then turning around and selling the car to the Toyota dealer. Sounds like he’s dependent on the Toyota dealer as he’s not able to complete the buyout himself.

It doesn’t like he couldn’t afford to end the lease, it seems more that he was simply making a more favorable decision. Let the original dealership buy it back at a COST of over $3k, or let a 3rd party buy it at a PROFIT of $13k. Seems like one of those Obvious Decisions.

can another party buy out your lease??

Generally speaking, yes. The leasing company wants the most they can get for the car and it was unlikely a dealer would make huge buyouts pre-shortage. Last fall, pretty much every brand started doing this to get something back on their dealers lots and it was a big(ish) deal back then, but haven’t heard much about it

I swapped my leased h3 in at a Toyota dealer to get a sequoia.   They paid off the lease.

I’ve done the same without winter tires. I went through 22 unplowed inches with really crappy all terrains in an old Jeep - went out for fun, in fact. The entire town was shut down for days and they even brought in excavators and dump trucks to get the snow out of the downtown region. I’ve driven through a blizzard wi

I’m surprised we’re not watching bro-dozers slipping on ice right now.

Winter tires are overrated. Especially now that tire tech is so much better than it was 10 years ago (plus, advances in traction control systems). They aren’t worth the negative impact to dry performance if the worst snow you get is what is pictured.

Oh, the humanity...

“ And only 3 transmissions such was it’s power!!!”

That sounds promising. Perhaps you should offer to run a training course.

If folks have not realized that Lyles Lanley actuall exists... well..

That’s a Lada rust!

In my experience it takes months to get the title when you buy from a dealer. They don’t give it to you right on the lot, they mail it to you later.

Most sales people can’t answer detailed questions about any of their models. I have never been on a lot shopping where I didn’t know vastly more than the sales person about the car I was looking for. These guys/gals float dealer to dealer and rarely stay up on current/detailed product info. They know a few highlights
