This doesn’t really measure up to some of the posters here, but I did an engine swap on an 86 Fiero GT. It used to be a 2.8L until I broke the crankshaft in half. In hindsight I wish I had kept the pieces as a souvenir and taken more pictures. What went back in was a similar 60 degree V6 from a 94 Firebird, but a…
Yellow. Yea. I’m that guy.
I inadvertently installed #4, the Intermittent Headlights on my Audi when I attempted to install LED bulbs for the DRLs.
My pops got three different citations from the same even cop, at the same time - 1. Holding up traffic, 2. Speeding, 3. I forget.. Anyways, he’s a trucker and his turbo went out on an uphill stretch, so he had to crawl up the hill, and then trying to get out of the way of everybody, he was speeding. It’s just bizarre…
This is the Cheap Car challenge I had been hoping Top Gear would have done! You just need to do it with 3 similar cars - maybe a Moskwitch and a Volga, with a Zaparozetz as the backup, lurking in the background.

Yea, but if you do check into a hotel, and they ask you what car you’re driving, you’re gonna have to either lie, or write down Pontiac Aztec..
I’ve done a couple of ~2000 mile road trips in one of these. They’re great for that. The only complaint is the 16mpg fully laden that I got on average. That and they’re friggin huge, so it’s hard to squeeze into small parking spots in the city. They are pretty reliable though as well, and you can get them serviced at…
Came to post this. Can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have an intelligent conversation with.
No German car, no matter how clean and well maintained is cheap to maintain on the West Coast of the US. That’s partially why I didn’t get another Audi, though a few Q7s were in my price range at the time.
Well said.
I was without a car at the time, and it checked all the boxes. And we do need something that can pull a trailer for the ATV or just hauling yard debris and whatnot. And don’t get me wrong, I do like the MDX, it’s just not fun or interesting.
