1. Carpeted door storage compartments. Never thought I’d miss those until I bought a car with plain plastic/rubber door pockets. Everything your kids put in there will roll around, make noise, and be just out of reach to grab and relocate.

Also referred to as the “oh-shit handles” in English for similar reasons.
Not needed in the right car. Never missed it in the Fiero. That also had the added benefit of being able to turn the wheels when working inside the fender with the whole front not lifted up, without having to start the car.
I’ve pushed my Fiero uphill to be able to roll it back down to start it. Door open, right shoulder in the door and push with your feet.
I mean if that was true, one should also not touch French cars when they have a fever.
On a related note, I came across this stanced version of the Tata Magic Iris van. Still not sure if it’s better or worse than the original pictured above.:
appalling*
There’s also some “interesting” stuff that came from behind the iron curtain:
The Crunk.
Inspired by the Fab 1 from Thunderbirds?
I’m not saying you’re wrong.
Only that perception of value varies from person to person.
As long as it doesn’t end up being the kind of attempt at a Halo car that the Plymouth Prowler was. An interesting design exercise, sure, but what else? What did that give us? The PT Cruisers face? Plymouth still went defunct.
Hey! I resemble that remark. I used to be a raver and a DJ with flashy sports cars and then an Audi. Then I became an Engineer, had kids (who now play soccer), and sold the Audi for an Acura. Mostly gave up PBR in favor of Gin and Tonics.. No short-shorts, Gap polos, sweater-vests or a fanny packs yet, and I still do…
The problem with Acura is I can’t even keep up with what they have anymore.
It looks like it was designed by a committee, using some sort of a broken agile design methodology, where each designer pair was sent out to design an element of the car that would do a specific thing or serve s specific purpose. In the world of software development, that India is known for, it works fine. Each…
Along the same lines, a random pro-tip: a front wheel bearing outer race from an 89 Firebird Formula is the perfect tool to press/hammer in the axle seals for a Fiero 4-speed transmission. I’m pretty sure they were made specifically for that use first, and later used for the wheel bearings.
Just yesterday I saw a 3-series wagon, covered in paint splatter around the hatch and two huge ladders strapped to the top...
My MDX came with a shoe as well. A single tiny back bejazzled ballet shoe.
My Fiero came with entirely too many French Fries behind the drivers seat, and a “Designed by Lotus” badge in the center glovebox that thankfully wansn’t applied to any part of the car.
Can’t say I’ve seen the interior of a Talon before..
