JRapp: now as good as new again

So speaking of Doc Hudson and going around a track.. I still don't understand the "Turn right to go left" BS from that movie. I know how to power slide cars around corners and by the time you need to turn right, you already need to be going right, relative to the car anyways... Not that anyone should be taking driving

Any of these training videos on YouTube? I can't seem to find any..

Judging by the vid-cap image it's more like: "This Is What The Caterham R620 Feels Like Off The Nurburgring".

Truckers frequently use those as well..

Now playing

The one they use in trucks works a bit better.

Trucks are not inherently "slow". Trucking companies put limiters on them to keep them at a set speed. Usually around 70ish.. My dad is an owner-operator, and his Volvo will go 120 at least.. it's been tested.. The reasons for the limiters could very well be fuel consumption though, as well as safety and liability and

Totally! Any self respecting Eastern European descent used car buyer/seller/shipper will fix it up like new and send it back east, making a hefty profit in the process. So what if it drives as straight as a drunk puppy.

While I want this really bad, I think it's a bit overpriced. $4k for a nice stock Fiero GT, $3k for the engine a misc bits and pieces needed for the installation, another grand or so for the Mr Mikes and the nice wheels and tires, plus a bit for the work, $8k or $9k would in my opinion be the high side of what this is

Or just tell him we'll be doing it at night so he may not need the sunglasses..

Not really. It's a 4.2L V8 with 350hp supposedly. The parking break either really is that good, or there's some logic somewhere that essentially makes the tranny act like it's in Park if the e-brake is on.

No the e-brake makes it pretty much immovable in my case. With it being full time AWD also, you wouldn't get very far with the rear wheels not moving before the differential gave up. Hopefully there's some logic built in that would prevent that. Now if it has enough power to still rotate the wheels and slip the

While I'm not familiar with the shift pattern of a VW, my Fiero also has an oddly placed reverse gear. With the gear markings worn, it would be rather hard to just find it as it's spring loaded by a fairly strong spring. Just for reference, it's left and up, but not all the way left, you have to let it back a little

While my daily driver Audi is an automatic, I've seen the push-button e-brake confuse even mechanics who work on cars for a living. Have to tell them to push the button down to disengage and pull up to engage as if it was a regular, albeit tiny, e-brake lever. I'm hoping your every-day low-brow car thieves would be

It's all in the wrist.. I've had lug nuts even cross threaded by a shop because they used an air-wrench without hand screwing the nuts on first I'm guessing. Soaked the thing in penetrating fluid, and still nothing. Took a 6ft length of pipe on the end of the lug wrench to snap the bolt in half to get the wheel off

See I'm the opposite. This is the reason why I do as much work on my own car as I can, and double check the lug nuts after someone else has had the wheels off, like after getting new tires and whatnot. I trust myself much more than the average Joe at Discount Tire or even the Dealers, to be able to properly torque the

All in all, not bad. That's as good of a praise anyone gets from me - I think bacon tastes decent enough and Pininfarina and Bertone do OK design work..

Something like that..

While this particular one is of questionable taste, in general I'm not entirely against using bits and pieces from other cars to enhance a cars appearance. What kills it though is using an emblem from another brand. There's an older Yukon Denali with Audi rings driving around Portland...

Sure, but TV coverage for that kind of stuff is nil.. I'm not saying great motor-sports doesn't exist here. There's just no exposure to it.

I so want this to be a thing in the US. I miss watching this sort of Truck Racing and Touring Cars and Rally on TV or even in person once in a blue moon. Here all we get is the Nascar types, drag racing, some strange bouncy pickups and Indy. It just doesn't quite measure up.
