I definitely think one of the downsides of so much information sharing around games, is that push for more “optimal” or min-max commentary from people.

There’s so many younger players who just take it all for granted and speed through the game, But I love Shirley’s pure enjoyment of the game. Her innocence and wonder she brings to it. She takes her time and carefully explores the world. She’s very mindful what she grabs and what it’s worth.

Have to agree. There was so much you could do in PD multiplayer, I played it for years too.

A lot of the really poor textures from back in the day are exaccerbated by us playing what is meant to be played at 480i on 32"CRT TVs on 55"+ HD screens.

I contend to this day that Perfect Dark was the superior game over GoldenEye in every way. Nostalgia be damned. I spent actual years playing this game. Everything about it was pure bliss. Too bad about Perfect Dark Zero. 

Post-PD, the state of first-person shooters have continued to disappoint me in terms of features. Perfect Dark should’ve been the floor, not the ceiling.

I remember when I got this game, me and my college roommates quickly learned what the corralative elements of GoldenEye were and then played it like that, ignoring everything else.

Multiplayer games (especially FPS) will be like this until video games are no more, and are therefore a tremendous waste of time for anyone looking to play the right way, unless they are in a sanctioned eSports league.
