Instead of being the singular guy at the feminist club on campus, hit the streets and find other like-minded guys to bring with you or start a feminist-men gathering.

    EL OH EL.

Goddamnit. Why are there disgusting vile men in every single facet of society.

In this case, no widely accepted protocol has been established, so pretending it was is counter productive.

It doesn’t go the other way around. In every community, every industry, there is male-perpetrated sexism against women, attempts at dominating or acquiring access to women. But we don’t have consistent, pervasive, pandemic instances of women treating men in these ways.

I am astounded by the fact that no sect of humans is free from the perverse actions of vile fucking men. Every. Single. Sect.

I think I once tweeted out of anger to Zimmerman about that particular characteristic of his.

Because women haven’t been conditioned to believe they are owed men.

It’s not a good outcome for future people who will continue to experience police brutality. Police go unchecked, they get bigger and bigger egos and power trips. Sure it’s easy to comply and be set on your merry way with a ticket but the point is that citizens shouldn’t be put in that position anyway

Totally. For me it’s less about the fact that he broke the law, and more about the fact that he tried his damnedest to KILL her with his bare hands. Lawlessness be damned, he’s a fucking psychopath.

I certainly didn’t appreciate the sentiments that she expressed in her original essays (mostly the bits about how, with regard to professors refraining from making “unwanted advances,” are you to know they are unwanted unless you try?). But it definitely isn’t grounds to claim that as a result, the campus atmosphere

And to me, there is a difference between “noticing” and “leering.” The former is human, the latter, not so much. It’s at least not part of being a DECENT human.

Exactly. FlowBee did not make an equal comparison by any means. Thanks for not letting that small but significant point pass by unnoticed.

    | I’m incapable of directly wishing harm on anyone

late to the party. but thank you, based goddess. thank you.

It really is a telling comment. The first thing that jumped out at me is the implication that the unrealistic portrayal of super muscular, machismo men in video games (or any media) is apparently what MEN like (according to Alex: "we like that"). Women? Speaking for myself and in my experience: not so much.

    At the end

While I agree, Geoffrey and said GF specified that it was "anything physical" meaning physical activity, not day-to-day things. Bra for day to day activities = bad. Bra or support for physical activity = good.

God that kid is a pint sized hero.

I never said that there have been victims that identify as feminists, just that people kill out of anti-feminism. But I can still give you a case: The Montreal Massacre. (To be clear, these women that were shot execution-style did not necessarily identify as feminists, but the killer gave feminism as his motivation

I think the point is that we shouldn't need for that to happen before we take things seriously. Why do we need someone to be harmed first? That's not fair. Also, while it wasn't related to games, women *have* been killed by angry anti-feminists.
