I think the Ultra rare meant the bonus comet flyby included free with tonight’s eclipse. At least that was how I read it.

While the title is a little misleading, it does specify “Ultra Rare Eclipse and Comet Flyby” meaning the ultra rare event is both the eclipse and the flyby occuring in the same evening. Technically the comet doesn’t show up till tomorrow morning, but I think that is splitting hairs.

“Ultra Rare” applies, in fact, when applied to an eclipse and comet fly-by in the same evening, which is why she titled it “How to Watch Tonight’s Ultra Rare Eclipse and Comet Flyby”. She included both events that make it ultra rare.

You’re right, they’re not ultra rare at all, which is why I specified that 1 in every three lunar eclipses is penumbral. That said, the convergence of the eclipse and this particular comet flyby is rare. Thanks for reading, hope you get to catch it tonight! :)
