Yeah I was thinking the same thing, the idea that anywhere close to “most people” (in the US at least) know anything pertaining to where chocolate comes from, let alone how child labor/slavery pertains to it, is absurd to me. It can’t be more than 5% at the most that knows anything about this.

It is just so sad to me to think that a child is spending their days labouring in a workforce. We take it for granted some times how good it is to live in a first world country. Thank you for bringing this issue to light. Up until now I was completely ignorant of this. No chocolate is worth a child labouring for it…

Not that lucky. The 50s might have been different, but today only 1 in 20,000 eggs are thought to contain salmonella. If he ate 2 raw eggs every day for a decade, that’s only a ~1/3 chance he was ever exposed to a salmonella-containing egg. And exposure does not necessarily mean getting sick.
