China is currently in the throes of a power supply crisis brought on by a combination of factors, ranging from low production in China and a ban on Australian coal (which they used to rely on heavily before the Australians gained a backbone and told China off re: human rights).

Part of me thinks these supply disruptions are “manufactured” to increase pricing and all the disruptions will be alleviated once consumers are happy to pay that price increase indefinitely.  Basically frog in a pot thing.

The problem is that economics drives the boat, as it were. If the US decided to entirely cut imports from China by building all local supplies, then competitors in other countries would undercut US prices by continuing to buy from China. To succeed all one needs is a planet-wide embargo of all trade with China. And…

Fuel tanks? I thought most of them were rotomolded or galvanized steel. Aluminum is a terrible material for automobile fuel tanks. In thin sections it fatigues so easily and forms thin cracks that would be a nightmare. Maybe they are referring to racing tanks or the very simplified and low-formed versions on diesel…

The issue with longer loans is the part where you get upside down on the loan, and the longer the loan the longer you’re upside down. So 0% is great, but if in a year something happens and you need to sell your car, it’s worth less than what you owe on the loan.

I got hit before too. I switched to mountain biking on the local trails now. No more smog, and no more asshole cars. There are tortoises in the woods that have almost made me crash though.
