One thing I don't see mentioned much at all is the fact that you can upgrade your weapons and your clothing. Later in the game I found that picking the right clothing for the situation made all of the difference.

Possession was overpowered but later in the game it didn't matter much for me. I didn't find Return to Sender especially helpful but I used the upgraded electricity alot! I didn't have too much of a problem with the combat on hard; it wasn't exceptional but I've never played any of the newer Halos to get sick of it.…
