I would very much like for someone to ask her (without her advanced preparation) if she thinks it would have been okay to get made up as someone with albinism, for Hallowe’en... and capture her response on video. Whether she says yes or no, she’d come off looking like a horrible mother (to reasonable people, anyway).

That’s what F’s are for. If the course really is a requirement, then make them take the course as many times as it takes or until they drop out. Either one works.
