Leaving a gigantic recommendation for ZeroRanger. This shmup is a 10 years in the making love letter to the genre and everything that inspires it, with a striking green and orange color pallet and just fantastic music. Even if you are not a fan of the genre, this one bridges the gap between novices and veteran pilots…

Dodge the far away beam Slash. 99% of the time, the Marauder will come for a Melee hit after that leaves him exposed. Rapidly hit him with a SSG>Balista>SSG combo. Either rebind your buttons or tap the weapon wheel to quick swap. This will two cycle the fucker. Remote rockets can stagger him but that requires timing.

I know that feeling, I also lost many hours of sleep playing that game. The story grips you start to finish, it’s incredible.

Originally released on the DS, it later got a modernized re-release for modern systems with some quality of life improvements, better graphics, voice acting (English and Japanese), and it comes bundled with the sequel, Virtue’s Last Reward, that is also amazing in its own right.

No but it’s definitely on my wishlist. Just waiting for one good sale to add it to my endless backlog xD.

Too many to count, but imma go with 999 for this one. The entire game builds up to a final plot twist so fucking amazing, it completely changes they way you perceive the story and choices you made along the way. It made me yell the loudest "Holy fucking shit" ever, and I wish I could experience that moment again.

This is a game I really want to check, so does anyone know of a way to buy it now? 

The Thunder Force influences are strong with this one (so much that it even has the same composer for a few tracks). I would also like to point out another shmup that came out last year called ZeroRanger that I believe everyone should play.

Not gonna lie, this is hilarious.

The sad thing is that this port probably won’t help to get a proper sequel.

Easily my favorite show of all time. The message about searching for what makes you feel alive changed my life a few years ago when I first watched it. Absolute masterpiece.

I know it's a fool's wish, but Lord, please may this game somehow lead to the existence of ZoE 3 :(
