Out of curiosity, didn’t Kathy get hit by the political stuff? She is not as much on tv anymore or any kind of special, so I’m curious what you are referring to as capitalizing on it.

Well in the movie’s defence it was long dormant script that was originally supposed to star Steve McQueen and Diana Ross. I’m guessing the writers didn’t brush it up that much.

The box office success of this movie is mind-boggling. It hardly showcases Houston’s music at all (even the most iconic song is just used non-diagetically over the last scene) and the romance is half baked. It’s basically just a really lame thriller that’s neither exciting nor original.  

You read the whole article to the end and thought “they are taking this very seriously for real and everyone is actually for real heartbroken for real” eh? C’mon champ.

Why is this written and received in comments like it is some great tragedy or injustice? Body doubles are common in the movie industry for all sorts of things. Movie posters have been ‘photoshopped’ since long before it was called that and I would have thought people reading a site called ‘AV Club’ would understand…

I liked the scene this shot is based on where he has to punch, kick, and elbow some random people in the crowd just for fun.

Let’s all just forget about who’s actually in the picture and admit that it really is a good photograph that is pretty representative of the movie it’s advertising.

Shit like this goes on all the time with movie posters.  There are lots of movie star heads photoshopped onto other people’s bodies.  

It depends on whether the photographer was scheduled for the shoot at a specific time and Houston decided to just go home before then or if they just decided to take the shot on the fly.
