Funny how some people expect Blac to just stay and put up with any kind of treatment from Rob because ... scammer.
Again, high school assistant principal here, and you can feel violated. We’d count that as an assault and possibly a felony if it were on a teacher (gray area here). But my point is, kids suck when they’re like that and yes, you should feel violated. That was a shitty thing to do.
That would bug me too. It makes one feel small. It is disrespectful to be pelted like that when you are just walking down the damn street.
I can’t handle those situations. I am ashamed to say that many years ago, but I was still very much an adult, a tween boy’s little sister chased me and gave me a well-deserved earful after I called her brother an asshole. He was being one, but I mean, there was a 20 year age gap. The thing is if I hadn’t been on my…
That’s so shitty. I once had kids pelt my first car (my baby) when I was out driving. I was so piiiiiiissed. I had gone back to school to grab a book I needed for homework. My Dad had to calm me down, I was that hysterical.
I know what you mean. And they also seem to be older than I recall kids were when doing stuff like that. Before this weirdness started neither my husband nor I had been in a snowball fight since we were 10 or 11.
Binge-watching The Crown on Netflix to distract me from Christmas shopping which I have no $ for.
What is it with kids now starting snowball fights with adults? We never did that when I was a kid. This has been a thing in my neighborhood for a couple of years, it must be something they see happening on one of their shows.
I had an embarrassing incident at the gym just now. I was doing squats with the Smith machine, and I’d apparently twisted the hooks in the wrong direction when I’d started my set, so I had a WTF moment when I was done. No big deal; it took me all of two seconds to correct it.
I really had the nicest day. Bought a Christmas tree at the farmers market and the fixings for homemade soupe aux pois, with artisanal cheese, bread and saucisson. Made a gingerbread house with the kids and listened to holiday music.
That’s made me cry. I had a friend like that. Her name is Jill. I loved spending time with her and she was a warm, kind, friendly, potty-mouth marvel.
I love this. I’m 28 (almost 29) and one of my best friends is 43, and I can identify a lot with what you shared. It’s more of an older sister relationship for me, which is something I’ve always wanted, speaking as an only child from a family that’s not terribly close. Thank you for sharing that with us!
That is wonderful. Every generation has something to offer when it comes to advice and information. My new friend and next door neighbor is 20 years older than me. What an amazing woman she is! She went to a college that was historically an all boys school and got in. She was the third women accepted. She only went…
I liked reading this. :)
This is beautiful. I have a friendship like this with a former professor. She’s 70 and I’m 35, but we get each other and like to spend time together talking about literature and politics and all the things we love. We learn from each other and I think it’s great. I’m so glad you have this too.
w00t!
HUGS
That does sound like a lovely friendship and day.
It’s a little whiny, but I also think you’re allowed to be a bit annoyed that a co-worker wants to tell something that’s not hers to tell. If you’re not close with your co-workers, then I wouldn’t worry too much about getting inundated with questions about wedding planning, your dress, etc if she tells. You might get…
