I'm pretty stoked about this. iStock is awesome but my company won't pay for it so when I search for (dare I say it) Clip Art, this is the shit that pops up.
They hired you for a reason. Feel proud of yourself! The fact that they reached back out to you means that you were impressive.
There's usually a small time lapse. Wait two seconds (actually count in your head "one" and "two") before responding. Otherwise the sound gets wonky and you could get cut off or cut someone else off.
I do the same thing. I blame HGTV.
I can relate, though! When I DO want to talk about it with friends I also want to be able to just have real talk and complain without them giving unsolicited advice or trying to change the subject.
I'm exactly in that place right now. I'm very unhappy with my life in a few different ways and talking about it with my friends makes me feel negative and whiney, so I've been isolating myself. I know it's not "healthy" to be isolated but it's so much better than calling friends up and being all "wah my life sucks!"…
This is pretty solid advice, Sara. Well done.
At the risk of sounding like a peeping tom, I can see into a lot of people's Brownstones on my block (huge windows with lots of lights on) and every time I'm walking my dog in the evening, a woman is doing this in her basement. I'll admit, I thought it was pretty brilliant in terms of multitasking and it doesn't…
It all depends on your dog and the park. I would recommend just observing a park near you before going in. Are the dogs generally friendly? Are the owners paying attention? Are small dogs separate or mixed in?
Most dog parks are very safe and positive atmospheres from my experience. Yes, every once in a while there are people who shouldn't bring their dogs in because they're not well-behaved, but that's certainly not the norm.
I'm a fan of this one.
That's such a well done ad. It sucks that so many people just simply don't GET IT.
Mmmmhmmm
This must be your friends at every potluck.
You bet! Thank YOU.
Aw I miss my grad school friend gatherings. They're the only people who truly understand how tired and busy you are, so when you get to just hang and eat food together it's quite awesome.
Cookies are always a safe bet when you need a good balance of savory and sweet food.
Ginger glazed meatballs? Damn, that sounds delicious! Do you have a recipe that you don't mind sharing?
I support anything cheesy and dippy, especially when they are combined.
