I should note here that the definition of a “shortcut” being used in this video doesn’t mean the obvious, intentional ones Nintendo always litters its tracks with. It instead means an unintentional shortcut, one that relies on an oversight or exploitation of code to make some serious time savings.

If it makes you feel any better, I was at a small convention with Anthony Stewart Head back in 2007 in Sydney over a couple of days and everyone was on their best behaviour with all of their questions the entire time.

You don’t like hearing from a dozen dorks who sat in line for ten hours just to repeat an overkilled joke?

I hate the audience questions at convention Q&As.

The important thing is you got to feel smug.

“We keep shoveling money into the bank accounts of our top executives, but we’re still not succeeding! Quick! Layoff a bunch of low level employees!”

They also seem like they have a corporate structure with too many managers and not enough do-ers. Every project they have has managers with knee-jerk reactions shifting direction every 6 months. I don’t know how they are able to put out anything operating like that.

Reminds me of a Sartre quote about the futility of trying to engage with anti-semites:

The fact that pics of the harassment were what got her banned would seem to indicate that it was more than “perceived,” since the content in and of itself obviously violated the TOS.  And not for nothing, but one party was displaying the content, while the other was using it to actively harass someone.  And it wasn’t

It is malpractice to call what is happening to Ubisoft “Bad Luck” when we ALL KNOW it is catastrophically bad and corrupt management. Luck has nothing to do with it, don’t run weird smokescreens for their failures for them.

It only checks those boxes if you’re completely power-blind or don’t care about whether the steps you take actually help address bigotry and oppression, or just remove them from your sightlines. Hate functions in a context. You can’t punish people wielding a hateful word or symbol in the same way that you punish

Then the TOS is morally and ethically bankrupt because it is enforced more effectively against people discussing the abuse they face than it is against the people doing the abusing.  It is literally failing and then being used to silence the people who call it out for failing.

However you feel about Keffals, this is an attack on trans people by some of the worst people online, including Kiwi Farms. And Twitch is just gonna allow themselves to become their weapon.

“I don’t think civility politics works when I’m engaging with people who don’t even view me as human,” she told the Washington Post earlier this year. “

We must therefore succeed in strongly limiting our spending to what is essential by questioning some of our habits and reflexes”

“I don’t think civility politics works when I’m engaging with people who don’t even view me as human,”

It’s ok for streamers to be banned for talking about the abuse they receive, but not ban the abusers?

Bad luck streak?  Is that what the consequences of their stupid decisions are called?  Maybe they should have spent a whole lot less time on NFTs and they wouldn’t be so far behind on real projects.

It’s almost as if bad management doesn’t produce good results...
