I think its because the reality of the justice system is in the background of it all. The important motivation for the tragedy is not escaping prison (not saying it isnt there, just not primary), but the fact all his friends now know him. Know who he is, what he is. As he said to Jack, "clarity".

bigger question for me was: why didnt he shoot as soon as he knew Hannibal was behind him?
Putting this next to the phone call with the warning ("they know") and their exchange after the gutting, I have to assume Will did not want Hannibal to die, or even, he wanted him to get away. Or wished.

Well, *technically*, Ghost of GJH did kinda start all of this, so a mousetrap play would be appropriate.
*Chillton gets stabbed behind the curtains by Will*

I kinda think he has all kinds of knives in existence :)

There is truth to this, but I feel it was more about the consequences of Will's hubris than stupidity.

Rewatched the scene, and I think you are quite right. Wonderful.

Oh I get it, when someone doesnt agree with you, they need to learn more about the subject.

1. He took them out when she told him she was paranoid.
2. + 3. If I had cannibalistic murdering manipulative Lucifer dick in me, I would prob go bonkers as well.
4. Symbol of Will's relationship with Evil/Hannibal. So the symbolic form is dead, does not mean the relationship is over. With Hannibal, or with Evil.
5.

listen, QBing *might* be happening elsewhere, but I do not see it in Hannibal.

There are "mixed messages" only if you allow a very shallow and strictly defined definition of "love story".

So what you are saying is that there are people that will watch a show just because there is "homoerotic" subtext/context? And then feel baited if there is no explicit "answer" this way or another?

I thought that that reading of the line was hilarious and appropriate, he just spent several minutes in a life and death fight, followed by slamming into the door like an animal.
Unhinged is the right word to describe it.

Fuller more or less states that Chilton is coming back:

If he wasnt "pathological" there would be no romanticism in it. its what art is about. letting the pathological come in, among other things.

"A hint"? I would not call it a hint, its a very strong subtext. the way some of their scenes are shot, I am totally expecting them to tear off each other's clothes and fuck their brains out.
…or am i just wishing that?

In general I agree with you, though I would have to watch again to be sure of the precise timeline.

Sarah Sutherland showed whose daughter she is quite aptly :)

So? I am one the "bad guys" of S1, when Serbs were still in fashion to be the bad guys in Hollywood. it was all just funny to me.

Or he kills Cat/Sansa. She did tell him this episode something along the likes of "I didnt want to kill a man, but I did", if that isnt karma-self prophecy I dont know what is.

IIRC it was Navi.
