You are generalizing. It is not a convincing argument.

I am guessing they were eating the Beast Guy's meat, not Freddie's. Will will probably need Freddie to take down Hannibal - not sure if that is in the books or not.

re: statistics
I would definitely have to think more about models that could be used, but I can imagine it would be pretty difficult not to get biased results, since much data would have to be based on subjective valuation of scenes, plots, arcs, etc.

Similar as feminists are "hysterical overly-dramatic creatures who only talk about hating men"?
And, no, just because you had "known some of these people personally", it still does not give your argument credibility. Or make it less of a biased generalization. Or less generic.

I have major respect for people who actually invest their time, knowledge, money, reputations, etc into producing a different kind of media.

Really good analysis. The problem is, for many people the "voting with the wallet" holds no value, and should be disregarded if it does not match the desired results.

Also, while I agree that this particular test can show trends over time, so can various kinds of statistical analysis - and show the data in a much more valuable and scientific way.
The test would not have gotten this much cultural traction had it not been used to test individual movies, in a spectacular "gotcha"

The problem with your analogy is what you said yourself: Who the fuck cares about whether someone is eating apples or pears, or grapes.

Why is "female representation" such a crucial thing in an already good movie? Assuming the movie is good, and would make you happy/ think/ sad/ whatever you expect from a movie, and there are no females, you would skip it on a basis there are no females? Or are you saying that the movie inherently cannot be good

If pass/fail do not mean anything, why have pass/fail standards?

I still do not see the point of criticizing 24, a work of *fiction*, and/or its producers for failures of highest fucking ranks of USA government of enforcing USA constitution principles and for failures of the USA army to recruit and train soldiers that would be immune to be influenced by a tv show. I mean, come on.

This is like repeating that Marilyn Manson "had unintended consequences on Columbine". Or video games on violence among youth. Or Plato stating he would ban poets from the Ideal State because they influenced soldiers to feel pity and fear.

This is so true. My most vivid emotional memory of the show (since it had been a while since I last watched full seasons) was the rush I felt at the end of each episode, and scrambling to get the next DVD in. I do not think any show so far was able to match this, especially that often.

Hehe, try watching that as someone actually from Serbia. Accents were more Croatian, which is understandable since Željko Ivanek had a major role as one of the Drazens.
Serbians being the BigBads was pretty hilarious though :)

Based on my experience, there was one other major trend that was not mentioned: binge watching.

… and all the people responsible for your trip will talk to you only in differently accented "fucks" all day long

My honest opinion is that no spoilers of this show can ever really prevent you from enjoying it, unless you have a big issue with spoilers in general. it doesnot really matter that you will know "what will happen", many of the things are really predictable in a teenage setting… its the how it happens and the

Without knowing there will be classic reviews, just a few weeks ago I started re-watching the show slowly… and it still managed to choke me up quite a few times.
Hope you really enjoy it, think it holds a really special place for many that watched it, even with a few terrible storylines it did.

it *is* actually a tv-show theme:

I watch all HBO and AMC shows only when the season is over, so I can go through the episodes all at once. Guess literature did fuck me up.
